The concept of air field hockey was invented by a small group of hockey-loving Brunswick Billiards employees in 1969. As you can imagine, the late 60's and 70's were a peak time in the table game industry with pool and foosball halls at their peak. The idea was to create a miniature field hockey game that involved a frictionless surface on which a puck could almost float. Knowing that ice was out of the question, the team decided to use an air table.
